Procedure :
Breast enlargement or breast augmentation, some times refered to as a breast or boob implant , is a cosmetic surgical procedure to enhance the shape and increase the size of a womans breast by one or more bra cup size.
Breast enlargement or augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed on women from the UK known also as boob job.
Breast enlargement surgery procedure involves the placement of an implant under the breast tissue or the the chest muscle.
During breast enlargement operation, The surgeon will insert an implant behind each breast, above or below the chest muscle, using an incision in the armpit, under the areole or under the breast in the natural fold

Complications:
Breast enlargement surgery is straightforward surgery, but like any surgery it can carry some risks and there are some complications associated with it including the main one breast implant infections:
-Infection around the breast implant is usually a rare complication of breast enlargement surgery, but when it occurs, it can be sorted within a week after the surgery. In some rare cases the breast implant has to be removed until the infection has passed and cleared up, then a new one is inserted.
-Capsular contracture : is the most common complication of breast enlargement,(18% to 23%) it occurs if the scar or capsule around the implant feelsto tightening and squeezes the soft implant. It will make the breast feel hard and solid. It can be treated in many different ways, but in very severe case requires the removal and replacement of the breast implant.

Recovery:
After your breast enlargement / augmentation surgery, you will be out and about within 24 to 48 hours, you will be discharged from your private hospital to your hotel. You will feel quite tired and very sore for few days, the pain and soreness will be calmed by medication prescribed by your surgeon.
You might be asked to wear a special bra for few weeks to help support it and not to strain them.
The stitches will be removed within 5 to 7 days.
Your breast will be sensitive for 14 to 22 days and you may experience nipple burning for 2 weeks. By the 4th week your breasts will be fine and no longer sore.
You should be able to go back to work within 14 days depending on the nature of your job
You need to avoid strenuous activity for about 4 weeks.
There is no evidence that breast enlargement / augmentation will affect your fertility, pregnancy or your ability to nurse.
Note - You need to tell you radiographer that you have a breast implant when you are having a screening mammography.
Results :
Scars will be pinkish and firm for the first 6-7 weeks and will fade away slowly over a few months. For most women, getting breast enlargements can be a very satisfying thing. It also can bring psychological benefits and helps restore their self-esteem.
